Open Question: Help find name of Movie?

When I was a kid, I remember this movie about a big bird in a city I think it was new York. It ate people it would come down and rip people’s heads off. I know that’s violent but I remember that one man climbs into its nest in an abandoned unfinished skyscraper and finds tons of jewelry from all the people that the giant thing ate.
